Diamond Education

Let’s keep it simple and take the advice of the Institution, which developed the 4C’s system for evaluating a Diamond. In the 1940s and 50s, The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) developed the 4C’s to create a universal grading system for comparing diamond quality. All of the 4C’s work in harmony, which ultimately decides the price of your Diamond. It is our goal, at The Diamonds Factory, to provide you with credible education and guidance directly from the source. This in turn will allow you to make an educated decision. Have Questions? Diamond Shape Diamond Color Diamond Cut
Diamonds come in various shapes (round, princess, emerald etc) and each are unique on their own. Each shape is usually determined by the top view of the diamond. A diamond’s color is actually referred to its whiteness. At The Diamonds Factory we only carry diamonds on the color scale of D (colorless) to J (nearly colorless). The cut of a diamond refers to its brilliance and sparkle. The better the cut of the diamond the more it will sparkle.
Diamond Clarity Diamond Carat Diamond Certification
Clarity refers to the amount of tiny imperfections in a diamond. There are rarely any diamonds without even the slightest imperfections. Higher the grade means lesser imperfections. Usually people associate the word “carat” with a diamonds size. A diamonds carat is actually a measure of weight. At The Diamonds Factory every product comes with a diamond certificate.
